Too.Many.Cars

The house front yard now is full of cars, I feel like I’m in a car showroom or something.

Bro is currently fixing up his car too, so it is now a ‘showroom/workshop’. How I wish we could have some sort of steel building or like a garage for him to do it instead.

And speaking of these steel building, how I wish I could have one for my ‘mini office’ as well, especially to store my sewing equipment. They are currently stored everywhere in the house, and I have to do the fabric cutting on the floor.. and with family members passing by here and there, I really cannot concentrate on doing my work lah!

Luckily, according to Mr.Hubs, I will have sewing work room in our new pad! A proper location to put my sewing machine and my fabrics and equipment! Yay!

My Space, Your Space

There are 3 “families” currently living in my parents’ house now: me (and the fiance) being one of them. And one of the topics that used to come up all the time in the house?

Definitely about food storage.

I always get very annoyed whenever the man and I bought my favourite food or drinks and stored it in the kitchen, only to find out that it is gone the next day or end of the week, eaten by one of them (and when confronted, nobody would seem to admit it is them! Lol!)

So after that, I tried to enforce a rule that each time we want to eat food or drinks bought from another “family”, we have to inform them beforehand.

But prrfftt.. that didn’t go very far. Food and drinks still seem to be gone without anybody actually admitting it was taken by them.

Fine.

Don’t get me wrong; if it is my mom who wants to take the things I bought, then by all means, go ahead. Just inform me first lah so that I won’t be looking high and low for it the next time.

Anyways, to cut the story short, we now use the “you keep your things here, and we keep our things there” way. No more confusion, no more getting annoyed towards one another, no problem arises at all!

And we intend to keep it that way.

Mom’s still an exception though.

Prices Going Up and Up

Regarding this article, I would have to agree with the writer. Grocery costs are going up like crazy, whereas our salaries does not move an inch.

Usually, the fiance would give me RM100 to buy the monthly groceries for the family. Before, it would be enough for the both of us, plus my parents. But ever since I buy less and less food, he joined me for a grocery outing one day, and was shocked to see all the prices of the food! So, he upped our grocery expenses to RM150 a month now. And trust me, that’s still not enough, actually. Crazy.

But since even we’re feeling the pinch, what more on other families with children? Like what was mentioned in the article, baby formulas are not cheap! What more when some of us are trying to stay healthy, with buying the supplements and hgh releasers from time to time? Do we all have to stop buying them now because we can’t afford it?

It’s no wonder more and more people are relying on credit cards now.. or worse, “ikat perut”..

When those important to you matters

I don’t know about you all, and call me old-fashioned, but personally, I don’t like to see parents being left living by themselves in their own house, with their kids all grown up and having their own lives somewhere else.

Funky Tiles

stainless-steel-tilesWhoaa.. this is something new to me..

Which of you here in KK have stainless steel tiles in your home?

I haven’t seen any before, and this is what’s so great about the Internet; you learn something new everyday! Teehee!

Anyway.. I think having these kinds of tiles in the kitchen or bathroom, fireplace surrounds, accent walls, etc. is a brilliant idea, don’t you? I mean, wouldn’t that be easier to clean? Read more »
